Revision Courses at Bath Academy are designed to improve student confidence and encourage them to achieve their potential in their academic exams. We aim to deepen understanding, support areas of weakness and provide opportunities to develop strengths.
Daily revision sessions are split between formal teaching, focusing on areas that students find challenging and daily assessments to improve exam technique and application of knowledge. Students receive detailed feedback on these assessments.
All tutors at Bath Academy are teachers with experience in teaching to the rigors of public examinations. Many have worked as examiners or assessors for the major examination boards
TYPES OF TUITION
At Bath Academy we are aware that no two students may want the same type of tuition. As such, we offer different types of session on our Revision Courses:
SMALL GROUP TUITION:
Our group courses are run by a tutor experienced in the subject. Working in small groups of students (maximum of 6 students), tutors are able to give all students individual attention and feedback. These group sessions cover all the topics assessed by the major specifications. These revision courses provide students with three hours of tuition (including refreshment breaks) and one hour of assessment (under exam conditions). Students receive full feedback on these assessments, along with points for improvement.
ONE TO ONE TUITION:
One to one tuition is useful for students who wish to focus on particular topics or areas across the AS/A2 specification with a supportive and knowledgeable tutor. These sessions are structured in a similar fashion to the group courses, but can be adapted dependent on individual student needs.
Revision Courses run either as morning (9am-1pm) or afternoon (2pm- 6pm) sessions. We can also offer bespoke individual and small group tuition (for specific groups of students), please contact us for further information.
COURSE DATES
February 2019
Monday 18th February – Friday 22nd February – A booster after or before mock exams
Easter 2019
Monday 8th April – Friday 26th April – Topic-specific revision to improve knowledge and exam technique (4/5 day courses due to Bank Holidays).
May 2019
Monday 27th May – Friday 31st May – One day exam preparation courses for A-Level module exams

COURSE COST
Course costs are £620 for a 5 day group course (20 hours of tuition/assessment) and £500 for a 4 day group course (16 hours tuition/assessment). One to One tuition costs £192.50 per session (4 hours of tuition/assessment) or £55 per hour for individual hour sessions. Discount is available for multiple bookings.

BOOKING PROCEDURE
Once you have submitted the course application form and deposit, the Director of Revision will contact you with confirmation of the booking. Our timetables are finalized 14 days prior to course start dates. Although we try to accommodate all preferred start dates, please be aware that not all courses will run on all weeks.
Bath Academy has no minimum numbers to run a course. We advise booking courses early; we ask that application forms are submitted 3 weeks prior to course start dates. We cannot guarantee a course will be available for applications submitted after this time.
