Recent reports suggest that £13.5 billion is needed to reverse the damage to pupils’ education caused by the pandemic. The Education Policy Institute stated that pupils have lost up to two months of education in terms of reading, and up to three months in Maths. Naturally, with this academic year drawing to a close many students will be preparing for next year and the content that will need to be taught in order to catch up.Later this week the Prime Minister is scheduled to address pupils’ missed learning and outline future steps, there are suggestions of extending the school day or a summer programme. A further suggestion was to provide one-to-one and smaller group tuition enabling students to combat the long-term consequences of COVID-19. In order for every child to fulfil their potential, Crescent Tuition has plenty of support available to assist pupils who have lost extended periods of education since schools were initially shut in March 2020. One-to-one tuition is provided by Crescent Tuition for a range of subjects and abilities, supporting young people with their learning and remedying the backlog of content.Students may be feeling overwhelmed with the sheer quantity of content they have to catch up on, creating stress and anxiety. Crescent Tuition also provides a Resilience and Wellbeing programme to ensure students feel prepared with their well-being and mental health. The bespoke resilience programme caters to student’s individual needs, recognising the external pressures caused by the rapidly-changing circumstances and unprecedented challenges. If any students or parents are concerned about missed education due to the pandemic or external factors, contact Crescent Tuition for a consultation about how to proceed and which services are best suited for the individual’s needs.“Overall I found tutoring very useful firstly because it helped me to get more confident in concepts I previously was not so sure about. Also, I learnt new techniques in approaching Questions and clearly understanding command words or even just laying out the question before starting it. It definitely pushed my maths up to the 90s and I hope to apply some techniques in my other A-levels too.” Elisabeth, Student
