This week it has been announced by ministers that both A-level and GCSE students will be given extra measures to ‘boost fairness and support students’. This comes after unions called for further amendments to the summer exam series, in addition to the three-week delay to most exams. The key measures are outlined below:
- More generous marking mirroring last year’s grade boundaries so that this year’s students are not disadvantaged.
- Students will be given notice of some of the topic areas covered in exams to allow them to focus their revision.
- Students will be provided with exam aids including formula sheets
These measures will allow students to be supported in the upcoming summer exams and achieve the grades they are expected to achieve. Crescent Tuition is going to focus their revision courses by tailoring them to the topic areas outlined by the Department of Education. By focusing the revision, it will allow students to maximise both their potential and likelihood of achieving top grades, efficiently and effectively.
It is important to note that only some of the topic areas covered will be released by the Department of Education. It wouldn’t be surprising if students read these measures and begin limiting their revision and effort in class as they believe that the revision they need to do will be entirely outlined and guided. Students must not be misguided with these new measures and instead remain focussed on their studies especially coming up to the mock exams which were taken into account last year, when awarding actual grades.
Crescent Tuition is running both general and specific revision courses, so all student’s needs are covered. The specific courses will allow students to effectively go through the topics that are guaranteed to be on the exam papers, this will enable students to achieve the highest possible mark, reducing the overall pressure and stress for the rest of the topic. Keep checking the website and social media for updates concerning the released topics and upcoming courses.
